Optimal to check Particle Counters:    Particle Count Standards Kits - PC Series

With these ready-to-use kits consisting of a Blank , an aqueous suspension of spherical particles of uniform size and a certificate you can directly check wether a particle counter is counting accurately.
The NIST traceable beads used for this purpose are dispersed in water with nominell 3000 part./mL. Because of the good colloidal stability the particles do exist as discrete single particles which can be suspended very easily even after long time storage. Being able to guarantee a homogenius particle distribution during measurement a small magnetic stir bar has been added to the particle suspension.

What is the Recommended Count Procedure ?

Adjust the particle counter for three channels according to the certificate first. Next four measurements of 5.0mL each with the Blank will be performed to check wether there are remained particles in the instrument still. The latter three countings will be averaged. If there are less than 50 particles/mL in total or less than 10 particles per mL in the main channel then the main counting with the particle suspension (bottle with the blue cap) can be done in the same manner as with the Blank but with gentle magnetic stirring additonally. The average of the last three countings should be very close to the certified value.
All measured numbers can be recorded into the 'Result Record Form' of the certificate. Thus, the property of accurate counting and the certificate itself are unified on one sheet of paper to document the current status of the particle counting instrument.

Scope of Delivery and Shelf Life....

Each Kit consists of a 25mL Blank, a 25mL particle suspension with a magnetic stir bar and a certificate. As an alternative there are Sets containing 3 kits of one particle size each in a stable box. The shelf life is 2 years with respect to the delivery date.

These Particle Count Standard Kits or Sets are not desined for size calibrations but for particle count validations only.
Please apply for size calibrations our NIST traceable Particle Size Standards (Calibration Standards)!
Before starting the main counting with the suspension the
Blank will be applied to check wether the particle counter
is free of particles or still contaminated with particles.
